In September 2024, Harris became an Assistant Men’s

Basketball Coach at The Citadel in Charleston, SC and is no

longer conducting skill development training.

Recently in March 2025, Coach Harris was named to the Jay Bilas Coaches

Leadership Program Watch List, which highlights aspiring talented coaches to watch..

History

Del Harris Basketball was established in 2014 to provide a unique learning

opportunity in the fundamental instruction of basketball for boys and girls in the

Greater Richmond area and surrounding counties. Instruction was led by an

experienced team of former college coaches and Division I players who

understood what it took to improve to the next level. The Difference training and

clinics offered three components designed to enhance and improve basketball

skills through summer camps, weekend clinics,  and year-round individual skill

development sessions. 

Prior to Coach Harris’s position at The Citadel, he was the Head Boys’ Basketball

Coach and Program Leader at Richmond's prestigious Collegiate School for 8

years. His coaching experiences is extensive and includes serving as an

administrative assistant/coach at the University of Richmond (2004-2005), an

assistant basketball coach at Virginia Military Institute (2005-2006) and Morgan

State University (2006-2007). In 2008, he was named the Men’s Head Basketball

Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics at Vassar College (2008-2013). He is

also the former director of Team Richmond Basketball AAU (2019-2024), one of

Richmond’s premier AAU long-serving programs in the tri-cities area – noted for

its effectiveness in helping players achieve success at every level of college athletics.
